New “Minority” Book in the Works! (personal update)
Exciting news! I am working with IVP Books on a new book about my experiences as an ethnic minority, aiming for a release in mid-to-late 2018. This book covers what it means to be a minority, which is about far more than numbers, demographic percentages, diversity strategies, and cross-cultural competence. It’s about crossing from our head knowledge to our hearts, as we understand stories of pain from the present and the past.
I’ll share my stories as a minority in the United States, and within the ministry organization where I served full-time over the past decade. I’ll put forward some new categories and language about how I believe we can best grasp “the minority experience,” and make connections to how these categories have existed for minorities in America from the beginning of history. I can’t wait to share this book with you, and I am beyond thrilled to get a chance to write it!
